I post on this blog on average once a day, depending on my schedule, what I am reading, and the material that comes in over the Internet and social media. At the bottom of each post there are subject tags. All posts on 1914, for instance, have that subject tag. Clicking on the tag will pull up all posts marked with that tag. Current students will be able to click on the WordPress icon next to each lecture topic on the syllabus.
I have set the blog to show my last 20 posts. Prior posts can be accessed through the monthly pull-down menu under Archives.
At the head of the right menu bar, you will find an item labelled Day-by-Day. These are Tweets from Old Gray Horror on the events 100 years ago on the day. I have posted a series of resources under “Museums”, “Websites”, “YouTube videos”, and “Resources”. Social media is an important part of this blog. I have listed a series of Twitter hash tags that I regularly follow. I also show recent Tweets from those I follow.
Creating this blog and plugging into the ongoing work posted by historians (academic and public) has been one of the most enjoyable experiences in my career. Please enjoy and do not hesitate to contact me with your observations or suggestions.
