Grades

I have created this class so that interested individuals can participate either for credit through Miami University or for personal enlightenment and enrichment. If you are taking the course for credit, you should know that grades will be determined in the following manner:

30% = Module essays

30% = Discussion Forum participation

10% = Quiz on All Quiet on the Western Front

15% = Veterans Project

15% = Extension Project

There will be no curve. You are graded individually based on your performance; the grade you earn is your individual responsibility. I can tell you that after 22 years at Miami University, the average student grade in my advanced history is a C+.

You must complete all graded items in the time frame established for each module. I will post your grade by noon on the following Monday.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if something comes up that hinders your ability to complete a module in a timely fashion. Its better if we work things out early than if we avoid them or leave them to be fixed by the Advising Office when you have to appeal a bad grade.
